Teachers Helping Teachers
http://www.pacificnet.net/~mandel
This is a website that I visited very often in my first year as a teacher. The classroom management ideas are very useful. It also consists of lesson ideas contributed by teachers all over U.S. Although most of the resources caters to the U.S. curriculum, you can find gems that you can modify for your own use if you look patiently. However, it looks like it has not been updated for sometime though. 3/5 stars.

Discipline Help
http://www.disciplinehelp.com/teacher/
This is the place to go if you want inspiration on how to handle your students. This website offers invaluable help on types of misbehaviour, causes and suggested action to take to help the situation. Suggested by our school counsellor, I especially like the school context which the website sets all the misbehaviour in.

ReadWriteThink
http://www.readwritethink.org/
This is a great resource for English Teachers. My favourite section of the website is the lesson plans. You can search for lesson plans by levels K-12. Each lesson plan has an overview, the theorectical underpinnings for the lesson, clear student objectives, links to resources used in the lesson and a step by step instructional plan.It also gives you the estimated time needed to complete the lesson. Rating: 5/5 stars

Shakespeare High
http://www.shakespearehigh.com/
Upper Sec Lit is always a struggle for students - especially when it comes to Shakespearen English. In my quest for a quick start to the enigma that is Will Shakespeare, I came across this teenage-friendly website that has intrigued students and teachers alike. From Shakespeare 101 to online discussions, the "live" aspect has managed to be a good support for both my students and me alike. Do check it out!

Short Stories at east of the web
http://www.short-stories.co.uk
Short of narratives? This website offers a wealth of resources on various types of short stories, divided according to fiction genres. It is especially useful in the teaching of Upper Secondary English and Literature, and is great for in-class analysis of content, subject matter and writing style, all the way to even generating opinions. How do I know it works? My students often quote stories or ideas from it. All in all - a lifesaver. 4/5 stars.

A Maths Dictionary for Kids
http://www.amathsdictionaryforkids.com
An animated, interactive dictionary for both teachers and students which explains over 500 common mathematical terms in simple language. Sometimes, it can be quite confusing or even frustrating to think of how to explain to pupils some of the mathematical terms. Thus, this website provides examples and even online practices to clarify such doubts.

The Science Page: CHEMISTRY
http://sciencepage.org/chem.htm
A lot of good and informative links with graphics and notes for upper sec chemistry. Simple and precise explanation for teachers to communicate to students.

Chemistry Coach
http://www.chemistrycoach.com/home.htm
Links under the original tutorials are quite good. They offer beginning teachers some sample questions for the students to work on and answers are provided for counter checking. There are also some analogies relating to daily life to challenging concepts e.g. calculations.

http://www.chemistrycoach.com/high.htm
This part of the site is slightly more challenging, related to the IB syllabus. Interesting chemical facts could be shared with students so that beginning teachers can capture students' attention in the subject. There are links to online chemistry dictionary and glossary.

Scholastic.com
http://www.scholastic.com
Great, must - go website with a wide variety of learning activities, readings and information.

Has free services like ‘free and easy' class homepage that can help to connect both parents and pupils and lots of other teacher tools to help to organise teaching and learning.

I have created a class homepage and it comes in very useful when my pupils or I are absent from school and I am able to post class announcements, homeworks, online assignments or projects and even pictures of the fun learning activities that are conducted for the day on the homepage. Important and interesting web links are also recommended on this class homepage.

Inspirational Stories, Motivational Stories
http://www.wow4u.com/stories/index.html
I love this website. It has a rich collection of inspirational stories which not only touch my heart but my boys' as well, so much so that many has asked for the website address. It is something like "Chicken Soup" but it has a longer history than this book, I think (The website has been continually upgraded). As expected, some of our teenagers may scorn the values hidden in the stories but experience tells me that they do have the stories at the back of their minds. That's good enough. The stories will come back to them as they venture on in their life journeys ahead. Stories, as we all know, are also powerful tools in the teaching of the English language. Go to the website, read the stories, be inspired and be touched and then it's your turn to inspire and touch the young out there! 4/5 stars.
