What is OYEA The Nominees The Awardees

What is OYEA?

The Outstanding Youth in Education Award (OYEA) is presented by the National Youth Council and supported by the Ministry of Education. This award honours the achievements of young educators who have a passion and commitment to teaching, inspiring and nurturing their students. The award was launched in 1999.

Every year, the Minister for Education confers the Outstanding Youth in Education Award at the Teachers' Investiture Ceremony.

The Award gives national recognition to the role younger teachers play in moulding the future of our nation. NYC is the secretariat for the OYEA Selection Panel and is assisted by the Teachers Network, Ministry of Education.

It seeks to recognise excellent younger teachers for their youthful idealism, enthusiasm, energy and active involvement in the development of youth beyond the formal curriculum.
